Camp Raphayada ministry update

God has given us many wonderful opportunities to serve Him here in Japan through our churches and ministries.  One of our most exciting ministries, along with our church ministries, is the construction and near completion of the camp, Camp Raphayada.  As we draw near to completion, we thank God for providing the funds so far to make Raphayada a reality. We still have some projects that have had to remain on hold, but we have completed so many projects around the camp through generous donations and volunteer work from church friends and teams from America. 

Will you pray with us for the completion of the camp?

We have been able to hold many wonderful camps throughout the years as well as lend it out to other churches so they may use the camp to serve in their ministries as well.  Camps that we have hosted over the years have been church kids camp (where we invite Japanese and foreign children from the surrounding area to a full week of camp and learning about God's word), MK camp (a camp specifically for MKs or children who's parents work in ministries here in Japan), Youth camp (a camp in early fall for young teens from 5th to 12th grade), family camp (a camp geared toward families in our church, to learn to grow as a family and as spouses), and winter retreat (a camp held in the winter for young teens).  We have also been able to host missionary retreats and missions conferences at Camp Raphayada as well. 

 Please pray with us for the upcoming camps that will be held in the year 2024, for the salvation of young Japanese children and teens and for the spiritual growth for kids serving in Japan with their parents. 

God has allowed us to complete a lot of construction around the camp.  Over the past several years, we have been able to add an extension to the kitchen, toilets in the hub, a pavilion for picnics and BBQs, extra storage spaces, and just last year we were able to add a lot of new guest rooms around different buildings in the camp.  The pool is still under construction, as some unforeseen circumstances occurred and it has remained incomplete.  We are hoping the pool will some day be completed so we can have swimming at the camp rather than going to the river.  This year we have been focusing on maintenance around the camp and fixing any areas that require some attention.   

We are looking forward to God doing some amazing things in the months and years ahead.  Watch with us and share in the excitement!

We welcome your prayers, your financial support, and your help!  God has sent many wonderful Christian volunteers to help with construction over the past several years, and we are looking forward to receiving even more helpers in the days ahead.  Twice we had wonderful groups from Panama Baptist Church, several have come from our sending church over the years, and just last May we had a group from BJU come for a few days to help with some projects around the camp.  In the past summers there have been MAPpers here to assist in the ministry as well.  Would love to have you on our team, too!
